Olive growers for a day

What does it consist of?

Feeling yourself as an olive grower for a day might the top experience for a visitor. To be on the skin of the olive growers how have been cropping the fruit for centuries where we obtain our Liquid Gold.

Being at the olive grove, with traditional tolls to participate in the symbolic olives crop and then go to the mill to see what happens with the fruit ... something unforggetable.

This activity is made on the harvest months, usually between October and January. Both individual visitors or groups.

Activity Program

The activity takes place in a nearby olive grove to Oleicola San Francisco´s Olive Mill. in Begijar, Jaen (Spain).
The tour takes about 3 hours

  • 09:45 h Arrival to the meeting point at Oleícola San Francisco
  • 09:50 h Starts olive grove visit
  • 10:55 h End of the visit to the olive grove
  • 11:00 h Return to the olive mill for the tour.
  • 12:30 h End of the tour with degustation.
  • 12:45 h End of activity.

What does it consist of?

  • Start tour at the olive mill. At the outer zone, introduction to the olive oil world, we introduce the stage we are going to talk about, Jaen, its landscape, its olive grove, varieties, etc…
  • WE´ll learn the different types of olive oil that are produced in an aolive mill ... the reasons for each one.
  • We move indoors to visit the old olive mill, where the olive oil was produced more than 20 years ago; old hidraulic presses systems, filters..etc
  • Screening of a small documental about the old elaboration method.
  • We´ll talk about the conservation at the old cellar dated on 1926
  • Then we enter into the modern factory, where technology and modern systems are what we need to know ... centrifugation, mixing, products ... to understand in detail the technological change experienced by the sector.
  • We´ll end the visit with a good taste ...
  • Degustation and tasting of ours Extra Virgin Olive Oils "Esencial Olive", Three types of extra virgin olive oils, three flavors, three smells...
  • We´ll learn to taste an extra virgin olive oil, to identify its nuances..

Miller breakfast

What does it consist of?

Within a unique and exclusive environment such as an olive mill we offer you the opportunity to enjoy the typical miller breakfast .

The traditional breakfast that mills workers used, and use to take.

Combine it with your tour or do it separately, but do not stop enjoying the best and most traditional breakfast of our land.

Aperitivo Molinero

What does it consist of?

After a morning with a lot of physical and mental effort comes the time to have a break and nothing better than to do it with some of the most iconic dishes of our cuisine.

Replenish energy after a morning visiting the corners of our province and what better than to do it in the unique setting of an olive mill, the essence of our land, the place where the olives become our precious liquid gold; The olive oil.

Meal "Degusta Jaén"

What does it consist of?

The experience of knowing a land like Jaen passes, without any doubt, through its gastronomy. Degusta Jaén It is a hallmark of Jaen province that highlights the finest products of the region.

With this food you´ll taste typical and 100% traditional dishes , fully elaborated in Jaén. All this sitted inside the old Olive Mill, surrounded by the old presses and machinery, or on our Andalusian patio (if weather allows it).

Certainly an authentic experience for the senses and a pleasure for your palate.

The food consists of:

    • Seasoned olives.
    • Jaenero tomato with extra virgin olive oil, oregano and salt flakes
    • Cellar serrano ham

Tapas Workshop

What does it consist of?

One of our major purposes is to show our culture and traditions among our visitors and this includes learning certain things.

All our visitors know what a "tapa" is, but they usually do not know how prepare them. Therefore we get “red-handed” and we show some examples in a participatory activity.

Visitors themselves can prepare several tapas and our famous sangria. all in an exclusive environment for the visitors group, in a pleasant and friendly dynamic.
